Pink pepper essential oil has a bright peppery aroma with a slight floral note, a dry woody, slightly smoky undertone - a more subdued aroma and with brighter top notes thanessential oil of black pepper. 
The molle, or pink pepper tree, was considered the sacred tree of the ancient Incas.

Please note that the aromatherapeutic properties of pink pepper essential oil are not the same as those of black pepper essential oil, and neither should be used as a substitute for the other. Chemically, black pepper oil (Piper nigrum) and pink pepper oil (Schinus molle) are very different:
Pink pepper essential oil contains approximately 80% monoterpenes, including α-phellandrene, myrcene, limonene, β-phellandrene, and α-pinene.
By comparison, black pepper essential oil typically contains approximately 50-60% monoterpenes.
